Written in 1999, A Savoy Christmas Carol took Dickens' perennial favourite, A Christmas Carol, and adapted it to use the music of Sir Arthur Sullivan. The completed work was first performed around the turn of the Millennium, and is published by Lazy Bee Scripts.
It was originally intended for Gilbert and Sullivan groups who wanted an interesting challenge, as there are only a limited number of G&S operettas in the canon. Other groups have been keen to take up the challenge, and the piece has been put on regularly ever since.
